Orbit Restaurant is situated in New Zealand's tallest building; the 328 metre high Sky Tower.

Woven Image worked closely with the architects and interior designers, Craig Craig Moller, to design an upholstery fabric unique to the project.

As well as the usual fabric requirements for restaurants - durability, stain removal and stain concealment - the fabric for the chairs and banquette seating needed to be relatively neutral in colour to prevent reflection in the glass at night. The result is a large scale Tasman pattern, echoing the strong Pacifica feel of Auckland, while the special gold and green colourway, links through to the colours of the landscape.
